Un retour aux sources qui n'en est pas un : par rapport à son prédécesseur qui comptait pas moins de dix instruments différents, Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light I n'en contient que quatre, mais il n'est pas question de revenir vers le drone d'il y a quinze ans en arrière. Quand je parle de retour aux sources, c'est parce que Earth se place entre la culture américaine et africaine et que son drone est teinté de blues. Les notes ondulent et claquent, Earth improvise : c'est charnel et spatial.

L'espace d'une seconde, j'ai eu l'envie d'écrire que A Bureaucratic Desire For Extra-Capsular Extraction était une chevauchée fantastique ; mais je me suis dit que, en considérant le poids du drone/doom metal plombé de Earth, j'avais l'impression d'être sous les sabots des chevaux plutôt qu'en selle. Cette compilation ne renferme que le désespoir (la performance de Kurt Cobain sur "A Bureaucratic Desire For Revenge") et la crasse (Joe Preston piétine tout de sa batterie sur"German Dental Work").
